In 2019, I co-founded Climate Action Now (CAN) Sri Lanka with Melani Gunathilaka to push for urgent, community-rooted ecological justice and environmental accountability across the island. A core principle of that work was establishing grassroots initiatives designed from the ground up to empower women to lead independently; today, CAN Sri Lanka is solely run and steered forward by Melani.
